But my true love has always been the web. I wouldn't go as far as pulling out the old "it's more than a hobby, it's a way of life" cliché, but web designing and creating/adapting web based applications are indeed more than hobbies to me. What I do:
PhotoshopI start all my designs in Photoshop on a blank sheet.
XHTML/CSSClean, pure css layouts. This usually follows the Photoshop step. The sites should have as less code as possible and as clear as possible. The code must render the same in every major browser, validate and look acceptable in mobile devices. Did I mention the fresh, modern, user friendly, user intuitive part of the designs?
JavaScript/AjaxStuff from menu effects, draggable elements, slideshows and galleries to more complex Ajax applications interacting with server side php scripts.
PHP/mySQLPHP that writes .js files. PHP that writes .css files. PHP that reads/writes into the database. PHP that parses RSS. PHP that draws images. PHP that makes your coffee. With nicely styled outputs.
Except the main categories I'd hate not to mention Joomla!, Wordpress and Google Maps mashup jobs I look forward to.

About
I'm a 21 year old Romanian web designer and developer. I'm a student at the "Faculty of Automation, Computers and Electronics" in the 3rd year where I study a lot of interesting things about how computers work (hardware, microprogramming, assembly, programming, operating systems, database design and other geeky stuff).
